BECOME A GUARDIAN AD LITEM

Guardian Ad Litem

A court Appointed Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer advocates for an abused, neglected or abandoned child in court and within the community. GAL’s volunteer a minimum of 8 – 10 hours per month including a required monthly visit to each assigned child; attending court 3-4 times annually with dates known 3 to 6 months in advance and attend specific In-Service presentations. Volunteers are responsible for knowing who is doing what for the child and deciding when to advocate.
Volunteers must be Florida residents, be at least 21 years old, make at least a one year commitment, complete free training and pass a background check.
